Hubble depth field

During the activity I learned a bunch of different things. It was interesting to see the size difference and what we think that it is and what it actually is. To me looking at the pictures they look really tiny and reality they are pretty big.
In one of the things the sample did was to take photos and i choose to take 22. The results that i got were, ellipitical: Frequency: 3, %: 13.6, spiral: Frequency: 6, % 27.3, irregular: Frequency: 13, % 59.1. With those results it showed me how close i was to the actual.
This activity was neat to see how the sizes and scuh varied and to be able to guess and to know weather i was right or wrong. Trail and error and then to see how it really worked. It shows me a lot about the galxies. I had no idea about that you could be looking at something in the sky that looks exactly the same when really they are two totally different things in the sky that are just close to each other.

BIG BANG!!

I can agree with the BIG BANG theory that it is possible to happen. Because it happened over a long enough period of time. With all of the things that happened within the big bang and with the religion part of what they think has happened. With the whole let there be light and there is light is like the light was the God and he is the one you should follow and live your life for. The religion and the big bang are very similar and are almost the same just the way they think it happened seems to be different. That God did everything and that's is why it happened and the big bang just kinda happened and not have specific reasons why.

are there aliens....

I'm not sure what to think weather or not there is aliens out there. Part of me thinks that there is a possiblity for anything to happen and be out there. On the other it doesn't seem likely that there is aliens out there. But our world and space is sooo big that i don't think that we are able to see everything everywhere and what is going on. In our world today a lot us think that we are the only "creatures" out there and that there really isn't any possiblity for other life forms out there.

black holes

event horizon everything that goes in the middle will be there forever and never ever ever come back Accretion disk things that hang out close to the black hole will spin towards and form an accretion diskBlack hole is an object typically a collapsed star whose gravity is so strong that its velocity escape exceeds the speed of light. Since nothing is known to exceed the speed of light, nothing can escape from a black hole Stellar Black holes made from stars Supermassive Black hole superfast moving gas jet Miniature Black holes no evidence but may have happened earlier
Hubble Space telescope, Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein and Karl Schwarzchild Simon Pierre LaPlace WFPC2 records sharp images of very distant things FOC records images of faint celestial objects STIS separates starlights into its component colors Volumes of black holes are huge and black holes have no mass

biggest dream..

I would have to say that my biggest dream is.....to be able to see my dad again...and would have him around during my life growing up. It would make things a lot different in my life with him here...

the end of the world as we know it...

killer solar flares...

I think that the possiblity of them being killer solar flares and have the world end is far out there. Because the sun gets them from the solar winds and nothing really has happened and we are very well protected the earth is and I dont think that the world is going to end. But I do believe that the solar flares are dangerous and should be something that we should keep our eye on.

spaceweather and asteroids

I think that we should be concerned about the things that are out in space. Because if we have the power to look more into and have the backgroung and the tools to why not. Also I think that it is interesting to learn about.

On November 14, 2008 there were 997 potentially hazardous asteroids. Potentially Hazardous Asteroids (PHAs) are space rocks larger than approximately 100m that can come closer to Earth than 0.05 AU. None of the known PHAs is on a collision course with our planet, although astronomers are finding new ones all the time.

Coronado's Personal Solar Telescope--PST for short--is a great way to get started with solar astronomy. The telescope is small, portable, and inexpensive--but it is a big performer. Looking through the eyepiece of a PST you can see vast dark solar filaments, red glowing prominences, and seething active regions where sunspots break through the sun's surface.

The comets have elicted orbits and they come very close to the earth and then go back out as far as pluto. Shoemaker-Levy 9 collided with Jupiter. This is the first collision of two solar system bodies ever to be observed, and the effects of the comet impacts on Jupiter's atmosphere have been simply spectacular and beyond expectations. Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 consisted of at least 21 discernable fragments with diameters estimated at up to 2 kilometers.
