plate tectonics with play doh

1. Importance of these terms
Pangaea- the supercontinet before they all moved to their current location
Sea floor spreading-occurs at mid-ocean ridges, where new oceanic crust is formed through volcanic activity and then gradually moves away from the ridge. Seafloor spreading helps explain continental drift in the theory of plate tectonics
Plate boundaries- are found at the edge of the lithospheric plates and are of three types, convergent, divergent and conservative. Wide zones of deformation are usually characteristic of plate boundaries because of the interaction between two plates. The three boundaries are characterized by their distinct motions.
the ring of fire- is an area of frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions encircling the basin of the Pacific Ocean. In a 40,000 km horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearly continuous series of oceanic trenches, volcanic arcs, and volcanic belts and/or plate movements. The Ring of Fire has 452 volcanoes and is home to over 75% of the world's active and dormant volcanoes. It is sometimes called the circum-Pacific belt or the circum-Pacific seismic belt.
a mid ocean ridge-is an underwater mountain range, typically having a valley known as a rift running along its axis, formed by plate tectonics.
a shifting north and south pole- the North Pole will be changed into the South Pole. Scientifically this can only be explained by the fact that the earth will start rotating in the opposite direction, together with a huge disaster of unknown proportions.
2. that they are lacking plate tectonics
3. that they are moving but not very fast.
4.off the west coast waves up to 100 ft high 9.1-9.3 on the scale one of the deadlest one plate went under another
5. that it used to be a supercontient
right about what happened just couldnt prove it
